Civil Engineer – PV Plants & BESS

About the role

Solarpro is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of civil and structural works for photovoltaic (PV) plants and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Bulgaria. You will ensure that all civil works meet engineering standards, safety regulations, quality requirements, and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate topographical surveys, geotechnical investigations, hydrological studies and other site assessments required for each project.
• Manage equipment selection and civil design aspects to guarantee successful installation and integration.
• Lead civil design activities, overseeing consultants and sub‑contractors.
• Design, review and validate structural foundations and auxiliary civil works.
• Review PV module mounting structure designs for compliance with site conditions, client specifications and relevant codes.
• Prepare, review and approve technical drawings, engineering reports, specifications, calculations and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers, electrical engineers, project managers, consultants and contractors to ensure seamless integration of civil and electrical works.
• Provide technical support to site engineering teams during construction to guarantee adherence to approved designs and safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in civil design for renewable energy projects, especially PV plants and BESS.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, safety regulations and quality control procedures.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
