Crew Control Officer

About the role

The Crew Control Officer manages real‑time flight‑deck and cabin‑crew rosters within a 0–72‑hour window, ensuring every crew assignment complies with flight‑time limitations (FTL) and operational schedules. When disruptions such as sickness, delays, or diversions occur, you rework crew solutions to keep operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain crew rosters in real time across the 0–72‑hour window and day‑of‑operations, following the Operations Manual Part A.
• Monitor flights for FTL, qualification, medical and crew‑cover warnings; resolve routine issues and promptly escalate significant ones.
• Source and assign replacement crew, verifying qualification, FTL and rest in the Leon system before each assignment, and activate standby/reserve within policy limits.
• Reassess crew legality after delays, diversions or operational changes and provide accurate duty data to the Commander.
• Arrange crew logistics—including positioning, hotel accommodation and ground transport—to protect minimum rest and operational readiness.
• Verify crew nationality, visa and transit requirements before confirming positionings.
• Keep crew qualification, availability and duty data accurate in Leon and ensure a clean handover between shifts for audit traceability.

Required profile

• High level of computer literacy and strong database skills.
• Working knowledge of EASA flight‑time limitations (OM‑A).
• Ability to make sound decisions under time pressure and manage competing priorities in a live operational environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English with strong communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under operational pressure.
• Willingness to work rotating shift patterns, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Aviation crew‑control or operations experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with the Leon crew‑management system (or comparable system).
• Knowledge of EASA flight‑time limitations (OM‑A).
