ESG Manager

About the role

PwC’s ESG team is looking for an ESG Manager to lead sustainable transformation projects for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop ESG strategies, deliver reporting solutions, and provide transaction‑related ESG due diligence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end ESG engagements covering strategy development, reporting, regulatory readiness, and ESG due diligence.
• Plan, resource, and manage project timelines, budgets, and quality reviews.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders across Sustainability, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Operations.
• Conduct ESG reporting engagements, including gap assessments, material topic definition, KPI selection, and disclosure design.
• Support clients in navigating ESG standards and regulations such as CSRD/ESRS, ISSB (IFRS S1/S2), GRI, TCFD, SASB, and Integrated Reporting.
• Design ESG data, process, and control frameworks, assessing data availability, ownership, quality controls, and technology requirements.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative ESG analysis, benchmarking performance against peers and internal targets.
• Deliver deep‑dive ESG assessments for portfolio companies to identify risks, opportunities, and value‑creation levers.
• Provide transaction‑related ESG due diligence, evaluating compliance gaps, potential liabilities, and remediation actions.
• Contribute to business development through proposal creation, scoping, and identifying follow‑on opportunities.
• Coach junior team members and share knowledge across the ESG practice.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of sustainability and ESG topics, including reporting standards, regulations, and frameworks.
• Experience delivering ESG reporting, regulatory compliance, sustainability strategy, or ESG due diligence projects.
• Excellent analytical, structuring, and summarizing abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• High motivation and passion for sustainability, climate change, and responsible business practices.
