Project Associate

About the role

The Project Associate will support the implementation and reporting of Labour Mobility and Inclusion (LMI) activities carried out by IOM in Bulgaria, primarily through the Migrant Information and Resource Center in Sofia. Working under the National Project Officer‑LMI and the Head of Office, the role involves close coordination with public authorities, NGOs, migrant communities and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support for LMI projects, including data collection, record keeping and report preparation.
• Assist in the preparation of routine correspondence, project documentation and beneficiary records while ensuring confidentiality.
• Facilitate communication and liaison with governmental bodies, UN agencies, NGOs and migrant groups.
• Support coordination of events, workshops and outreach activities aimed at migrant integration.
• Maintain accurate beneficiary databases and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma with five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with three years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience working with migrants, refugees, IDPs or victims of trafficking.
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs; prior work with international humanitarian organisations is an advantage.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
