QA/QC Manager – Renewable Energy Construction

About the role

SUNOTEC is seeking a QA/QC Manager to strengthen quality management across its international renewable energy construction projects. Based in Sofia, the role involves travelling to project sites in Bulgaria and across Europe, working closely with engineering, procurement, project management and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SUNOTEC’s Quality Management System, establishing consistent processes, documentation and standards.
• Lead the implementation of the QMS across assigned construction projects, ensuring quality requirements are understood and applied by project teams, subcontractors and Quality Inspectors.
• Manage and support a team of Quality Inspectors, set priorities, provide technical guidance and maintain a consistent approach across sites.
• Oversee inspections, testing and internal audits, identify risks and non‑conformities early, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management and construction teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with technical, contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate quality activities with clients, regulatory authorities, certification bodies and third‑party inspectors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor quality performance, translate lessons learned into process improvements and provide clear reporting and recommendations to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
• Proven QA/QC experience in large‑scale construction projects, preferably in renewable energy or battery storage.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work autonomously and set priorities across multiple active projects.
