Senior Accountant – Czech Republic & Macedonia

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead the full accounting cycle for our Czech Republic and Macedonia entities, based in Sofia with hybrid working options. The role also serves as Global Process Owner for Accounts Payable, collaborating with finance teams across the international group.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end accounting cycle for Chaos CZ, Macedonia and other entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets and month‑end/quarter‑end/year‑end close in line with local GAAP and group reporting.
• Act as primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors and statutory filings.
• Manage local treasury and payment cycles in coordination with the group finance team.
• Define and maintain global standards for Accounts Payable, harmonising workflows and driving automation in NetSuite and related finance tools.
• Support the Accounting Director with finance process improvements and optimisation initiatives.
• Assist with ad‑hoc accounting projects across the wider international group.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial accounting within an international corporate environment, preferably in technology, software or SaaS.
• In‑depth knowledge of Czech statutory requirements, local GAAP and Bulgarian GAAP.
• Experience with large international group consolidations, IFRS and intercompany/transfer pricing.
• Hands‑on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
