Senior Accountant

About the role

We are hiring a talented Senior Accountant to join Green Street’s finance team. The role offers the opportunity to work across multiple subsidiaries, support month‑end close, and contribute to global tax initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the AVP, Accounting with month‑end close duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement review and flux analysis for designated subsidiaries.
• Ensure corporate credit cards and bank accounts are reconciled promptly and reconciling items are documented and resolved.
• Verify invoice approvals, correctly classify expenses, and guarantee timely payments.
• Collaborate with the AVP to establish accounting systems and enhance month‑end close processes for assigned entities.
• Prepare, document and reconcile journal entries across multiple currencies and maintain consolidated reports for annual audits.
• Support external audit coordination for Green Street and its affiliates.
• Work with the AVP and external tax advisors on tax provisions, returns and notices, covering income tax, sales tax, VAT, GST and residency certificates.
• Liaise between Accounting and other departments (Advisory, Sales, HR, Technology) to gather information and support initiatives.
• Identify issues proactively, recommend process improvements and assist in implementing efficiency, control and accuracy enhancements.
• Participate in ad‑hoc reporting and projects for management and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required).
• CPA designation preferred.
• 3‑5 years of experience covering all aspects of accounting.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and charting.
• Prior experience with NetSuite is a plus.
