Senior Accountant – Tax Accounting (Sofia)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Tax Accounting practice at PwC Bulgaria. In this role you will support a diverse client base with tax compliance, accounting, and the implementation of technology solutions, helping them navigate complex tax environments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accounting books and records in line with Bulgarian Accounting Act, IFRS, and client policies.
• Manage corporate income tax and VAT compliance processes for clients.
• Participate in the implementation and optimisation of ERP, BI, and CRM systems.
• Drive process and reporting automation using technology tools.
• Ensure clients meet all regulatory compliance obligations.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and advise clients accordingly.
• Communicate with tax authorities and other government bodies.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in accounting and corporate taxation.
• Strong knowledge of National Accounting Standards, IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Experience with ERP, BI and CRM system implementation.
• Fluency in English and Bulgarian; German is a plus.
• Excellent Excel proficiency and strong communication skills.
• Previous experience in an accounting firm is advantageous.
