Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

AMPECO is scaling its EV charging management platform across Europe and beyond. The Senior Legal Counsel will join the growing legal function, reporting to the Head of Legal and partnering with commercial, product, engineering and finance teams to support the company’s rapid international expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (SaaS, licensing, data processing, partnership, reseller, MSAs, SOWs) across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide legal support on data protection, including GDPR compliance, cross‑border data transfer mechanisms, DPIAs and vendor due diligence.
• Advise on emerging EU regulatory frameworks such as the AI Act, Data Act, NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act and AFIR.
• Support commercial transactions involving EV charging networks, CPO/MSP structures, interoperability standards (OCPI, OCPP) and energy regulatory touchpoints.
• Manage external counsel across EU jurisdictions, track legal matters in Jira and improve contract templates and internal processes.
• Assist with corporate and equity matters, including support to the US parent entity.
• Develop deep product and market knowledge to negotiate commercial terms, pricing and deal economics.
• Act as a business partner to sales and product teams, shaping legal frameworks that align with AMPECO’s operating model.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law; an additional degree from a reputable UK or EU university is a strong advantage.
• 5+ years of post‑qualification experience as in‑house counsel or contract manager in a technology company, or equivalent experience in an international law firm with substantial IT/tech exposure.
• Proven track record negotiating complex commercial agreements, including SaaS and technology licensing.
• Hands‑on experience with GDPR and cross‑border data transfer mechanisms; familiarity with EU regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act, NIS2, Data Act or AI Act is a plus.
• Confident user of AI tools and legal technology, leveraging them to increase efficiency.
