Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

The HR Business Partner for Bulgaria serves as a strategic advisor and operational anchor for all people‑related matters. Working in a multinational, cross‑cultural environment, the role adapts global HR frameworks to the Bulgarian legal and business context, ensuring compliant, consistent, and high‑quality support for leaders and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, succession, retention and capability development.
• Provide practical HR advisory on role changes, employee movement, engagement actions and performance outcomes.
• Use HR analytics (attrition, engagement, performance, utilization) to identify risks and support evidence‑based decisions.
• Coach managers on fair, consistent, and compliant people‑management practices.
• Lead employee‑relations cases end‑to‑end, including fact‑finding, documentation, remediation and closure tracking.
• Ensure consistent application of the Bulgarian Labour Code, internal policies, GDPR and other local employment regulations.
• Prepare and maintain audit‑ready HR documentation such as job descriptions, warnings, termination records and investigation summaries.
• Collaborate with Legal, external advisors and authorities on complex cases, litigation risk and labour inspections.
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes and translate them into policy, process and payroll updates.
• Plan and execute the annual HR cycle, including performance management, promotions, compensation inputs, engagement interventions and policy updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role within Bulgaria, with deep knowledge of the Bulgarian Labour Code and GDPR.
• Strong ability to partner with senior leaders, influence decisions and coach managers.
• Excellent analytical mindset, capable of turning HR data into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated track record of managing employee‑relations cases and ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Effective communication skills in English; Bulgarian language proficiency is essential.
