IC Digital Design Engineer (Front-end)

About the role

Melexis is looking for a Digital Design Engineer who will own the complete lifecycle of front‑end IC designs, from concept to mass production. You will shape the digital core of smart automotive sensors and system‑on‑chip (SoC) solutions, working in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop advanced Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL for automotive sensor and SoC projects.
• Collaborate with system architects, analog designers, and embedded software teams to integrate analog blocks, digital logic, and software.
• Contribute to architectural specifications, leveraging knowledge of microcontrollers, bus systems, DFT, and key peripherals.
• Design and integrate safety‑critical serial interfaces and implement ISO‑26262 error‑detection mechanisms.
• Work with verification teams on scenario building, fault injection, and formal proof to ensure automotive‑grade quality.
• Automate front‑end tasks and environment setup using Python and TCL scripts.
• Document designs and provide cross‑functional support to analog, verification, test, and quality groups.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in microelectronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with IC/FPGA design and a strong desire to deepen digital design expertise.
• Solid understanding of RTL coding, simulation flows, and digital design concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural, cross‑country team.
• Passion for staying up‑to‑date with digital design trends and contributing to technical publications or patents.
