Junior Radio Planning Engineer

About the role

Join A1 Bulgaria as a Junior Radio Planning Engineer and contribute to the design, planning, and optimization of our 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile networks. You will work with cutting‑edge tools and collaborate with RAN operations, optimization, and vendor teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform radio planning activities including coverage and capacity planning, site selection and parameter configuration.
• Use Atoll for propagation modeling, site design and network simulations.
• Carry out frequency planning, neighbor planning and feature activation.
• Support basic radio optimization through KPI monitoring, troubleshooting and improvement recommendations.
• Participate in drive‑test analysis and prepare network performance reports.
• Assist in the integration and acceptance of new sites and radio features.
• Collaborate with RAN operations, optimization and vendor teams.

Required profile

• Higher technical education in Radiocommunications, Telecommunications or Radio‑communication technology.
• Good understanding of mobile network principles for 2G‑5G.
• Basic experience in radio planning or optimization.
• Analytical mindset, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Working proficiency in English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• Atoll radio planning tool.
• Knowledge of Ericsson RAN equipment or related tools.
• SQL and database handling.
• Microsoft Office suite.
