Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Ottobock’s Equipment Engineering department in Blagoevgrad is expanding and seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop customized production equipment for high‑tech products. You will work on real engineering projects, turning concepts into fully functional machines.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical assemblies and components for production machines and test systems.
• Create 2D and 3D drawings and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Develop and maintain CAD models (preferably using CREO; SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA accepted).
• Support and optimise existing machine designs.
• Collaborate closely with process, electrical and software engineers in cross‑functional teams.
• Participate in prototyping, testing and implementation of equipment in a production environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Proven experience with CAD systems and ability to create/interpret technical drawings.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and willingness to learn in an industrial setting.
• Working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• CREO (or SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) CAD software.
• 2D drawing and 3D modelling.
• Technical documentation creation.
• Mechanical design principles, materials knowledge, mechanics and kinematics.
