Product Designer

About the role

Balance is a fast‑growing B2B payments platform seeking a Product Designer to lead the design of key product areas. You will shape end‑to‑end experiences, partner closely with product and engineering, and drive high‑impact solutions for complex financial workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Own design from discovery through polished execution for core product features.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to define problems, shape strategy, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Translate complex payment, reconciliation, approval, and credit flows into simple, intuitive experiences.
• Lead research, ideation, prototyping, and validation activities.
• Use qualitative and quantitative insights to guide design decisions and measure success.
• Create high‑quality UX/UI deliverables such as flows, wireframes, and high‑fidelity mockups.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system for scalability across complex surfaces.
• Partner with engineering to ensure high‑quality implementation and thoughtful trade‑offs.
• Explore and integrate AI tools where they improve product or design outcomes.

Required profile

• 4–7+ years of product design experience, preferably in B2B or fintech.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end ownership and measurable product impact.
• Excellent UX thinking combined with visual and interaction design expertise.
• Proven ability to lead projects independently while aligning with broader product strategy.
• Effective communication skills to explain decisions and influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma (or similar).
• Experience using AI‑enhanced design tools.
