Senior Auditor

About the role

BDO is looking for a committed Senior Auditor to join its Auditing team in Sofia. You will lead audit engagements for Bulgarian and international clients across various sectors, ensuring high‑quality delivery and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit teams and oversee audit projects from planning to completion.
• Conduct audits of Bulgarian and foreign companies in diverse industries.
• Prepare analyses and provide consulting services to clients.
• Lead financial due diligence and expert examinations.
• Organise and deliver training on Bulgarian accounting legislation and IFRS for clients and internal staff.
• Coordinate and organise work within the Audit Department for assigned projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an auditor.
• University degree in Finance, Financial Control, Audit, or Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation, and IFRS.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• High motivation for professional growth and readiness to take responsibility.
• Strong team‑management and process‑orientation skills.
• Adherence to professional ethical principles and standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Bulgarian accounting legislation.
• Knowledge of Bulgarian tax legislation.
• Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Proficiency in English (written and oral).
