Associate Medical Director, Nephrology

About the role

The Associate Medical Director, Nephrology will act as a senior medical and scientific advisor across IQVIA’s divisions, supporting clinical trial execution and business development activities. You will provide expert guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring scientific rigor and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Global Medical Advisor on assigned nephrology projects, offering scientific and medical guidance to project leaders.
• Review protocols, Investigational Drug Brochures, case report forms, and clinical study reports for medical accuracy.
• Provide therapeutic area training to clinical teams and present at investigator meetings.
• Support investigative sites with protocol clarifications, eligibility determinations, and safety issues.
• Review adverse events, serious adverse events, and collaborate with pharmacovigilance on analyses.
• Participate in kick‑off, weekly, and client meetings; be available 24/7 for urgent site queries.
• Travel as needed (approximately 15‑20%).

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution with a valid medical license.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical medicine experience plus clinical trial experience as an investigator or in pharma/CRO/biotech.
• Board certification and experience in Phase I or early clinical development.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory, scientific, and commercial landscape in nephrology.
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
