Databricks Platform Architect

About the role

Join KDN's Bulgaria Cloud Services unit as a Databricks Platform Architect. You will lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑scale Databricks lakehouse solutions, helping both internal KPMG firms and external clients modernize their analytics landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deploy scalable Databricks platforms across cloud environments.
• Build modern data lakehouse architectures using Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and native cloud services.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
• Define platform standards, governance, security controls, and operational best practices.
• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and consumption frameworks.
• Automate infrastructure and platform provisioning using Infrastructure‑as‑Code principles.
• Provide technical leadership to data engineers, developers, and project teams.
• Support migration from legacy data warehouses and ensure scalability, reliability, performance, cost optimization, and security.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms with Databricks.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflow.
• Proven ability to work with cloud‑native services and IaC tools.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
