Director, High Risk Acquirer Performance in Europe

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a senior fraud and compliance leader to drive performance for high‑risk acquirers across Europe. You will act as the primary interface with acquirer customers, helping them reduce fraud, chargebacks and compliance violations while maintaining strong approval and authentication rates.

Key responsibilities

• Design internal and external reports that highlight poor performance areas and trigger corrective actions.
• Engage directly with acquirer customers when performance issues or rule violations arise.
• Sell and deliver consulting engagements, including trainings, performance‑optimization projects and mandatory FMP reviews.
• Collaborate with Franchise colleagues to expand specialty merchant categories, identify missing registrations and optimize revenue.
• Identify emerging fraud trends and share insights with product teams, banking associations and regulators.

Required profile

• Extensive fraud‑management experience in card payments and transaction processing.
• Deep knowledge of authentication, authorization and scheme rules, especially European regulations such as PSD2.
• Proven track record working with acquirers on fraud and merchant compliance to Mastercard standards.
• Experience selling tools and solutions in the payments‑fraud space.
