Finance Director

About the role

Our client is an international B2B sportsbook product business operating across multiple countries. This hands‑on leadership role offers end‑to‑end ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function and the team that delivers it, working closely with the CFO and executive team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, structure and develop the finance team across locations, set priorities around the close calendar and manage performance.
• Own month‑end and year‑end close for all entities, including consolidation, intercompany reconciliation and ledger integrity.
• Coordinate statutory reporting, external audits and maintain clean audit files.
• Act as the finance point of contact for regulatory authorities and manage ongoing relationships.
• Oversee corporate tax, VAT, transfer‑pricing documentation and coordinate with advisers in each market.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, multi‑currency banking, FX exposure and working capital.
• Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis and reporting packs for the CFO and executive team.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling re‑forecasts and departmental cost tracking.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on accounting experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑country group, including consolidation and cross‑border reporting.
• Full‑cycle exposure to close, statutory reporting, tax, treasury, accounts receivable/payable and management reporting.
• Experience in a B2B business with revenue‑share, licence and integration fee models.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a finance team across locations and time zones.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English and willingness to relocate to Sofia full‑time.
