Junior Data Engineer

About the role

Junior Data Engineer joining the Enterprise Data & Intelligence team in Sofia, working on Azure‑based data pipelines under the guidance of a Senior Data Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipeline components on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
• Write clean T‑SQL and Python/PySpark code for scoped tasks following coding standards.
• Develop data validation tests and document pipeline lineage and metadata.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and participate in code reviews to improve skills.

Required profile

• Early‑career professional with up to 2 years of experience in data or software engineering, internships, academic projects or personal projects.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics or related field (or equivalent demonstrable experience).

Required skills

• SQL (T‑SQL preferred) and Python (or another programming language).
• Understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts.
• Exposure to Azure cloud services, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory or Synapse.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
