Lawyer – Commercial & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and commercially‑minded lawyer to join Dimitrova, Cholakov & Partners in Sofia. The role offers exposure to privacy, commercial, corporate and compliance matters, with opportunities to work on banking, finance, labour, real‑estate and dispute‑resolution projects.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and other legal documentation.
• Conduct data‑privacy audits, prepare GDPR compliance material, review and negotiate data‑processing agreements, and respond to privacy claims.
• Advise clients on commercial, compliance, corporate, banking and finance issues.
• Participate in legal due‑diligence, corporate restructurings and regulatory projects.
• Provide counsel on large‑scale layoffs, disciplinary actions and internal labour rules.
• Assist partners in complex transactions and client mandates.
• Attend client meetings and build trusted‑advisor relationships.
• Manage assigned matters independently under partner supervision.
• Contribute to internal knowledge‑management and professional‑development initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a lawyer or in‑house counsel.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong legal drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in legal research tools.
