Principal Clinical Translation & Scientific Engagement Lead, Real World Data

About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Principal Clinical Translation and Scientific Engagement Lead for Real‑World Data (RWD) to work remotely from Bulgaria. The role bridges clinical expertise with data science, ensuring that RWD products meet evolving medical practice and technology standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership by collaborating with the Global Head of RWD to shape product roadmaps based on shifts in clinical practice, technology, and AI.
• Translate clinical concepts into precise data definitions and work with technical teams to validate analyses and ensure scientific accuracy.
• Serve as the primary clinical resource for cohort and feature definition, handling inquiries and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and lead AI‑enabled solutions to enhance data generation, interpretation, and workflow efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and industry partners to support use‑case testing and scientific outreach.
• Represent Labcorp at conferences, contribute to publication strategies, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Healthcare professional degree (MD, PharmD) with at least 3 years of clinical practice.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Real‑World Data/Real‑World Evidence or healthcare analytics.
• Post‑graduate research experience (Masters or PhD) in life sciences is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience publishing scientific research or presenting at medical congresses related to RWD/E.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of real‑world data concepts and the life‑science/healthcare industry.
• Understanding of HIPAA, data‑privacy regulations, and best practices.
• Familiarity with medical coding ontologies such as ICD‑10, NDC, and RxNorm.
• Experience leveraging AI tools for data generation, interpretation, and validation.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with clinical, business, and technical teams in a remote environment.
