Principal Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

LivePerson’s Cloud DevOps team is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to provide technical leadership across the organization. You will shape the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of our cloud platforms and services, influencing multiple engineering teams without direct authority.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve highly available, scalable, and secure systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Lead cross‑team initiatives covering cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, observability, security, and software delivery.
• Define and drive SRE practices such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
• Respond to complex production incidents and implement long‑term corrective actions.
• Develop automation and IaC solutions using Python, Terraform, Ansible, Bash, and related tools.
• Establish GitOps deployment practices with Helm and FluxCD, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
• Enhance observability through metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or systems engineering, with senior technical leadership (Principal/Staff/Architect) experience.
• Proven ability to influence architecture and technical decisions across multiple teams.
• Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring senior engineers.

• Observability platforms – Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager.
• Linux system administration, networking, DNS, load balancing, TLS/SSL.
