Project Manager / Trial Lead – Functional Service Provider (EMEA)

About the role

PPD is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Trial Lead to act as the primary sponsor liaison and drive successful delivery of clinical projects across the EMEA region. You will lead cross‑functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact between the sponsor and PPD for each project.
• Maintain and enforce escalation pathways and communication rules both internally and externally.
• Coordinate secondary project leads (regional, vendor‑specific, or delivery‑subset leads) as needed.
• Own overall project delivery, ensuring timelines, costs, and quality targets are met.
• Provide financial stewardship by understanding contracts, aligning resources to budgets, managing out‑of‑scope activities, and driving change‑order negotiations.
• Set, communicate, and manage customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify risks, resolve issues, and apply RBQM/RESOLVE processes.
• Ensure team compliance with PPD policies, SOPs, ICH‑GCP, and all regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic/vocational qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in clinical operations management, delivering trials on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial contracts, budgeting, and scope management.
