Senior Hardware Engineer

About the role

ConverterTec, a global specialist in electric power conversion, is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join its Sofia R&D centre. You will work on complex hardware boards and circuits for marine, UPS, wind and solar applications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed project phases, including international and multi‑site collaborations.
• Design, support and test low to high‑complexity hardware boards, microprocessor and FPGA systems.
• Provide direct support to sales, manufacturing, purchasing and development through proposals and design reviews.
• Troubleshoot component and system problems independently and conduct component testing.
• Manage derivative tasks, define scopes and estimate durations.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Hardware design of microprocessor systems and power electronics modules.
• Hardware design of FPGA systems.
• Knowledge of embedded software development.
• Very good knowledge of Altium Designer.
• Understanding of Low Voltage Directive and EMC phenomena, including validation and verification.
