Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

emerchantpay is seeking a senior-quality assurance engineer to join its global payments IT team. The role focuses on designing, automating and executing test cases for cloud-native, micro-service based payment platforms, while leveraging AI-assisted tools to boost testing efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, create, maintain and continuously improve test cases across multiple product areas.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, exploratory and non-functional black-box testing, including API testing.
• Automate test cases using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium or Cypress and programming languages like Python, Ruby or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Utilise AI-assisted tools and MCP-enabled workflows for test generation, defect analysis and documentation.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and analysts to define test coverage and track defects.
• Contribute to QA strategy for cloud-native systems, micro-services and distributed architectures.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software quality assurance experience, including 3+ years in test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, Playwright API).
• Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile, CI/CD pipelines and modern software engineering workflows.
• Practical experience with AWS cloud services and testing of complex micro-service environments.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
