Software Project Manager for Defense Project

About the role

Yamasoft is building a new team to support a leading European provider of integrated maritime systems for a NATO member navy. As a Software Project Manager you will keep the work on track, coordinate the team, communicate with the client and ensure delivery on time, on budget and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Plan project scope, timelines and milestones together with the team and the client.
• Track progress, identify risks early and keep delivery moving.
• Run regular team ceremonies such as planning, stand‑ups, reviews and retrospectives.
• Act as the main day‑to‑day contact for the client and prepare clear status updates and reports.
• Help build and organise a new team from the ground up, remove blockers and foster a collaborative culture.
• Maintain project documentation, plans and decisions, and support budgeting and resource planning.

Required profile

• German citizenship and residence in Bulgaria (mandatory).
• Ability to qualify for VS‑NfD classified information access.
• 5+ years of experience in project management or coordination, preferably in software/IT.
• Good understanding of software project methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Kanban or hybrid).
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and clear communication in English.

• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
