Banking App Technical Lead

About the role

tbi, a well-established Bulgarian bank described as having a start-up culture, is looking for a Banking App Technical Lead. The role leads the mobile development team behind the bank's iOS and Android banking app and manages its end-to-end technical delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead the mobile development team, encouraging collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement
• Manage the full technical lifecycle of the mobile banking app, from analysis and design through development coordination, release management and post-release optimisation
• Turn strategic priorities into tactical plans for app development and support the launch and scaling of app features
• Coordinate profitability analysis, internal approvals, business requirements and delivery planning for new digital products
• Report project status, risks, dependencies and issues to stakeholders and management
• Define and monitor KPIs for app development, customer experience, product adoption and delivery efficiency
• Work with business, product, design, development, QA, operations and customer support teams, and with customer support to address user feedback
• Support product and market analysis and align with internal standards, risk, security and data protection requirements
• Develop product documentation such as specifications, wireframes and process flows

Required profile

• University degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or another relevant field
• At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar role
• Experience with financial mobile apps, banking apps, payments or fintech products is a must
• Fluent written and spoken English and strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required skills

• Understanding of the mobile app development lifecycle, architecture, integrations and cross-platform approaches
• Agile experience, using Scrum or Kanban
• Integrating third-party APIs, authentication systems, banking APIs and vendor SDKs
• QA methodologies, testing, defect management and release validation
• Basic understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles
