Data Engineer for AI

About the role

Graphwise is looking for a Data Engineer who will help build AI‑enabled data pipelines and information architectures. You will work on transforming both structured and unstructured data into intelligent, searchable systems that power enterprise knowledge graphs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines for diverse data sources.
• Integrate and harmonise data from multiple enterprise systems.
• Implement AI‑oriented retrieval patterns such as RAG and GraphRAG.
• Create workflows to extract structured information from documents and text.
• Contribute to scalable backend and data‑processing platforms.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to solve complex information challenges.
• Explore and adopt modern AI, NLP, and data‑engineering technologies.

Required profile

• Strong software‑engineering fundamentals and problem‑solving skills.
• Professional experience with Python, Java or Scala.
• Hands‑on experience building backend systems or data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes and version‑control practices (Git, CI/CD).
• Familiarity with modern AI concepts such as large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation, vector databases, embeddings or NLP workflows.
• Excellent communication in English and a curiosity for learning new domains.
