Director of Global Supply Chain

About the role

This senior position leads the global supply chain function for a complex manufacturing organization based in Bulgaria. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on analysis, negotiation and performance management, influencing sourcing strategy, supplier performance and cost optimization worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global strategic sourcing, commodity management and supplier negotiations to reduce material costs and improve total cost of ownership.
• Design and oversee commodity quotation processes, set priorities, timelines and performance expectations for quote packages and supplier awards.
• Analyze global spend, pricing, VMI activity and supplier data to establish competitive pricing targets.
• Develop and maintain reporting on savings, purchase price variance, supplier performance and implementation progress.
• Create supplier scorecards, executive relationships and escalation processes to strengthen accountability.
• Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and supply risks, translating insights into actionable direction.
• Implement supplier risk mitigation, business continuity and supply assurance strategies across the network.
• Drive responsible sourcing initiatives, including conflict minerals and diverse supplier development.
• Build, lead and develop global supply chain teams, defining expectations and professional development plans.
• Partner with senior leadership on projects that support growth, margin improvement and financial objectives, including international travel as needed.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in global supply chain, strategic sourcing or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong track record of delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements and risk mitigation.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to influence senior executives and collaborate across functions and geographies.
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically.
