Freelance Sustainability Auditor – CFP, EPD & LCA

About the role

We are seeking an experienced freelance sustainability auditor specialized in carbon footprint (CFP), environmental product declaration (EPD) and life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies. The role involves independent audits, verification activities and compliance assessments for projects in infrastructure, oil & gas and renewable energy sectors on a flexible, project‑based basis.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct LCA studies and verify carbon footprint calculations according to ISO 14040/44, ISO 14064‑2, GHG Protocol and related standards.
• Audit and certify EPD reports in line with ISO 14025, EN 15804 and product category rules.
• Validate compliance with ISO standards, GRI, SASB, TCFD, EU PEF and other regulatory requirements.
• Review data quality, perform inventory analysis and recommend improvements.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, document evidence and communicate findings to clients and certification bodies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience in LCA, CFP, EPD or sustainability auditing, including freelance verification work.
• ISO 14040/44 Lead Auditor or equivalent LCA certification, ISO 14025 EPD verifier, ISO 14064 carbon footprint auditor and third‑party verification accreditation (ISO/IEC 17065).
• Fluent English with strong technical writing and ability to explain complex sustainability concepts.
