German Content Moderator (Sofia)

About the role

Workster is recruiting a German Content Moderator to join its Trust & Safety team in Sofia. The role involves reviewing user‑generated content in German across multiple digital channels, ensuring compliance with community guidelines and local law, and contributing to a safer online environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and moderate German text, images, video, comments and profiles according to company policies and Bulgarian law.
• Apply consistent policy judgments on hate speech, harassment, graphic violence, sexual content, misinformation and other prohibited categories, documenting the rationale.
• Use internal moderation tools to remove, label, escalate or restore content and record accurate case notes.
• Escalate high‑risk or legally sensitive cases to senior moderators, policy or legal teams.
• Collaborate with Policy, Legal, Safety and Product teams to clarify guidelines and improve product features.
• Contribute to moderation guides, example libraries and training materials in German and English.
• Identify trends, report recurring issues and help refine automated detection systems.
• Work shift‑based schedule, including early starts, late finishes or weekends as required.

Required profile

• Native or C2‑level fluency in German and strong written English (B2+).
• Previous experience in content moderation, trust & safety, community management or a similar policy‑driven role.
• Excellent written communication in German, with attention to tone and cultural nuance.
• Good judgement, resilience and ability to make consistent decisions under pressure.
• Right to work in Bulgaria or eligibility for company‑supported relocation.
