Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Operations Engineer

About the role

Join a diverse cloud operations team responsible for the availability, reliability and operational excellence of large‑scale GCP environments for enterprise clients in Sofia.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production GCP environments, ensuring availability, performance and scalability.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Deployment Manager or similar.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent.
• Design monitoring, alerting and observability solutions using Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Manage GCP networking components such as VPCs, load balancers, VPN/Interconnect and Cloud DNS.
• Configure compute, storage and database services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, BigQuery) following security and cost best practices.
• Implement identity, access and security controls using Cloud IAM, Secrets Manager and KMS.
• Automate operational tasks with Python, Bash or Go scripts.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and provide incident communications.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cloud Operations or Site Reliability Engineer on Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands‑on experience with GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL and GCP networking.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go) and automation experience.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD tools.
• Good understanding of cloud security, identity management and encryption.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in cross‑functional, international teams.
