Junior Legal Counsel – AML and Legal Support

About the role

As a Junior Legal Counsel you will support Pluxee’s Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs team on AML/KYC/KYB matters, regulatory compliance, contract review and internal legal processes. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, group‑level teams and external authorities to deliver clear, compliant and business‑oriented solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support KYB/KYC and AML processes for onboarding and ongoing review of clients, merchants, partners and other counterparties.
• Review customer profiles, documentation, ownership structures and beneficial owners as part of due‑diligence.
• Contribute to transaction and operations monitoring from an AML, fraud and compliance risk perspective, escalating suspicious activities.
• Assist in preparing regulatory filings, audits, inspections and reports related to AML, payment services and e‑money requirements.
• Help develop and update risk assessments, AML rules, policies and procedures in line with legislation and group requirements.
• Communicate with competent authorities such as SANS and the Bulgarian National Bank.
• Draft, review and coordinate contracts and legal documents with clients, merchants, suppliers and partners.
• Provide practical legal support to internal teams on contractual, commercial, regulatory, consumer and compliance matters.
• Support employee trainings and awareness sessions on AML and fraud prevention.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law with legal capacity.
• At least 2 years of experience in legal support, contract law, regulatory compliance, AML/KYC/KYB or a similar function.
• Good knowledge of Bulgarian and EU AML/CTF requirements and ability to apply them.
• Interest or experience in financial services, payment services, fintech, banking or other regulated environments.
• Excellent Bulgarian language skills and good working command of English.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and ability to prioritize effectively.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn and confidence to take ownership.
