Linux System Administrator

About the role

floLIVE is reshaping global IoT connectivity with its Connectivity Management Service. We are looking for a Linux System Administrator who will architect, install, configure, and optimise computing systems and networks in a Linux‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain hardware and software components in a virtualised Linux environment.
• Fully manage deployment, configuration and troubleshooting of all Linux servers.
• Assess, approve and administer equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
• Provide direct mission support in classified and unclassified Linux desktop and server environments.
• Administer, troubleshoot and resolve failures and critical alerts on Linux and Windows servers.
• Write and troubleshoot Windows and Linux shell scripts.
• Monitor and maintain NAS storage.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.

Required profile

• Excellent knowledge of Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat).
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Proxmox or KVM‑based deployments.
• Good understanding of Linux security, cloud security, core switching/routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN and virtualization standards.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting hardware (servers, routers, switches, NICs).
• Knowledge of system flow‑charts, data‑processing concepts and telecommunications principles.
• Experience with backup and disaster‑recovery principles.
• Background in SaaS infrastructure and service development.
• Ability to work independently and within a team; knowledge of Pacemaker, Kubernetes and MySQL is a plus.
