Mid/Senior iOS Engineer

About the role

You will join the team of The Sun, a client of News UK, as a Mid/Senior iOS Engineer. You will work alongside engineers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class mobile solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Follow best practices to maintain high code quality.
• Support existing features and develop new ones for The Sun.
• Help define requirements and create tickets.
• Assist with the release process to deploy new features and fixes.
• Leverage AI tools to boost productivity.

Required profile

• Native iOS development experience with modern and legacy systems.
• Solid commercial iOS development using Swift.
• Strong experience with SwiftUI for modern UI development.
• Experience with RxSwift for reactive programming.
• Maintaining and refactoring legacy UIKit‑based code.
• Knowledge of modern architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI) and legacy patterns (MVP).
• Firm grasp of object‑oriented design and tiered architecture.
• Ability to deliver solutions with iOS UI/UX principles.
• Test‑driven development using frameworks such as Jest, Webdriver and Appium.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Understanding of performance optimisation, caching, security and native SDKs.
• Familiarity with AI tooling options.
• Experience with NodeJS and AWS cloud platform is a plus.
