Regulatory & EU Law Legal Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory & EU Law Legal Associate to join a leading international law firm. The successful candidate will advise clients on a wide range of regulatory, competition, EU and administrative law matters, supporting them through filings, compliance projects and strategic advisory work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on regulatory, competition, EU and administrative law issues.
• Assist clients with regulatory filings, compliance initiatives, public authority submissions and approvals.
• Monitor legal and policy developments and evaluate their impact on clients.
• Support competition law matters, including merger control, antitrust compliance and state aid.
• Design and review whistleblowing frameworks and EU whistleblower protection compliance.
• Advise on data protection, GDPR compliance, governance and risk management.
• Interpret and guide clients on EU restrictive measures and sanctions regimes.
• Develop internal policies, procedures and controls for broader regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

Required profile

• 1–5 years of experience in regulatory, competition, EU or administrative law, preferably in an international or strong local law firm or regulatory authority.
• Good knowledge of Bulgarian regulatory and administrative law and EU law.
• Admission to the Bulgarian Bar or eligibility for admission.
• Bulgarian law degree.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical thinking, sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
