Security Engineer

About the role

Payhawk is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to strengthen its security posture. You will join the IT & Security team, focusing on proactive monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response across a fast‑growing fintech platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls to meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, prioritize risks, and coordinate remediation with engineering and infrastructure teams.
• Manage endpoint security, including system monitoring, patch management, and security configuration for enterprise environments.
• Configure and optimize mobile device management (MDM) and endpoint protection platforms, ensuring policy enforcement.
• Oversee software deployment, OS imaging, and patch compliance across all enterprise endpoints.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents using SIEM, EDR, and related tools, providing containment, remediation, and post‑incident analysis.
• Document security monitoring activities, incident investigations, and response actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cybersecurity, preferably within a SaaS or fintech environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to prioritize and track remediation efforts.
• Passion for continuous learning and improving security processes.
