Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support the Elhovo construction project in the Yambol region of Bulgaria. The role involves overseeing civil works, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse design documents provided by the engineering headquarters.
• Conduct on‑site investigations, collect and evaluate data such as maps, reports, tests and drawings.
• Prepare technical and feasibility studies and produce blueprints that meet project specifications.
• Report daily and weekly progress to the Site Manager and maintain records of consumables and tools.
• Monitor construction progress, material stock, and purchase of equipment and supplies.
• Identify potential risks, assess material and cost implications, and ensure compliance with permits and safety guidelines.
• Supervise subcontractor activities, verify quality of work against design, and communicate design changes.
• Coordinate civil engineering activities with the Site Manager, Project Manager and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate construction methods for cost‑effectiveness and support corporate health & safety procedures.

Required profile

• University or technical degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably on energy or industrial projects.
• Fluent in English and Bulgarian, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in hot or cold environments and willingness to relocate to the project site.

Required skills

• Advanced use of AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
