Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

As a Senior Legal Counsel at Nexo, you will safeguard the company’s legal interests across a fast‑moving digital‑asset environment. You will work closely with the Head of Legal & Regulatory Compliance and regional counsel to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and revise corporate documents and commercial agreements, including share and asset purchase agreements, investment and shareholders’ agreements, joint‑venture agreements, service‑level agreements, general terms and conditions, and internal policies.
• Survey licensing and registration requirements in multiple jurisdictions and advise on regulatory implications.
• Handle employment law matters and related issues.
• Respond to general and ad‑hoc legal queries from internal teams.
• Supervise junior legal counsels when required.
• Collaborate with regional legal counsels and regulators to ensure full compliance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law with a strong academic record.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate, commercial, employment law, and compliance within financial or banking services.
• Experience in cryptocurrencies or blockchain is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to supervise junior team members.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and multi‑tasking abilities.
