AI Model Validation Expert

About the role

As an AI Assurance Expert at PwC you will collaborate with data‑science, model‑risk, data‑management and governance specialists to plan and lead the validation of AI models used by our clients. The focus is on identifying key risks, assessing controls and ensuring models meet regulatory and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and develop AI Assurance strategy, creating frameworks, governance models and risk‑management approaches that can be applied at scale.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build fit‑for‑purpose mechanisms for validating AI methodology, tooling and outcomes.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and audits of AI/ML systems, checking compliance with regulations and industry standards and recommending improvements.
• Develop and maintain AI governance frameworks aligned with the organization’s risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
• Design and deliver AI literacy programmes for developers, users and decision‑makers, and create internal accelerators to speed up AI validation.

Required profile

• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in data science, including developing, validating and reviewing AI models.
• Experience with model and data governance projects and a solid understanding of AI model risk management.
• Familiarity with the EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO/NIST standards and ethical AI principles.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with fluency in English.
