Chief Architect – Enterprise Technology Leader

About the role

tbi, one of Bulgaria's most profitable banks, is looking for a visionary Chief Architect to shape its enterprise technology landscape. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will define the strategic roadmap and ensure every major investment aligns with the target architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and evolve the bank's enterprise technology architecture.
• Develop a multi‑year transformation roadmap and target architecture.
• Lead architecture governance, standards, and best‑practice adoption across the organization.
• Chair the Architecture Review Board and oversee critical technology decisions.
• Drive legacy modernization and technology simplification initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, Risk, and Business leaders to ensure architectural alignment.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and strategic partners.
• Provide executive leadership with trusted guidance on technology investments, risks, and long‑term strategy.
• Foster a collaborative community among Platform and Domain Architects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 12+ years of technology experience, including at least 5 years in Enterprise Architecture or a similar strategic leadership role.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise architecture in complex, regulated environments.
• Strong experience leading large‑scale modernization and legacy transformation projects.
• Experience in banking, fintech, payments or other highly regulated industries is strongly preferred.
