DevOps Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer to join a global client’s engineering team. The position is freelance, initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension, and requires one day per week onsite in Sofia while the rest of the work can be performed remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible.
• Implement GitOps practices with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
• Build integrations across major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, and Alicloud.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes workloads using Helm and cloud‑native technologies.
• Collaborate with platform and product teams to deliver scalable self‑service automation solutions.
• Utilize observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and OpenSearch to monitor systems.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reusable following IaC and GitOps best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cloud automation and infrastructure as code.
• Strong understanding of GitOps principles.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
