Junior Accountant

About the role

Join PwC’s Tax team in Sofia as a Junior Accountant and gain hands‑on experience in tax and accounting. You will support senior colleagues while developing your knowledge of Bulgarian accounting standards, IFRS, and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain client accounting books in line with the Bulgarian Accounting Act, IFRS and national standards.
• Perform monthly checks, data validation and reconciliations.
• Participate in ERP, BI and CRM system implementations and upgrades.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities using Excel and other technologies.
• Prepare business and accounting reports and analyses.
• Communicate with tax authorities and other government bodies.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience.
• Good knowledge of National Accounting Standards, IFRS and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in English and Bulgarian.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
