Corporate Tax Lead

About the role

SumUp’s European Tax team is expanding as the company moves into a tax‑payable position. The Corporate Tax Lead will design the compliance framework, ensure accurate and timely filings, and build the controls infrastructure that underpins sound tax governance.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end corporate income tax compliance for European entities and Australia, including filing design, instalment calculations and deadline management.
• Lead remediation of outstanding direct tax items, creating a structured backlog with risk ratings and remediation plans.
• Establish and maintain a 4‑eyes quality control framework for CIT, withholding tax, Pillar 2 and Country‑by‑Country Reporting filings.
• Build and manage a master compliance calendar with jurisdiction‑specific workflows to ensure predictable cycles.
• Advise Finance, Accounting and Controlling teams on complex tax matters such as transfer pricing, M&A and restructuring.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in corporate income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions in a multinational environment, both in‑house and advisory.
• Deep knowledge of CIT mechanics, withholding tax obligations and solid understanding of Pillar 2/GloBE rules and Country‑by‑Country Reporting.
• Strong accounting foundation with ability to analyse financial statements and understand interaction between management and statutory accounts.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
• SAP ERP experience.
