Finance Director – Sportsbook iGaming

About the role

This senior leadership position is for a Finance Director within a fast‑growing international sportsbook and iGaming business. You will shape financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive performance across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and provide strategic direction for the sportsbook and iGaming operations.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with growth and commercial objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning and prepare accurate management accounts.
• Monitor revenue, GGR, NGR, costs, margins, cash flow and profitability.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to executive leadership.
• Lead financial modelling and scenario analysis for new products, markets and partnerships.
• Manage finance operations including AP, AR, payroll, treasury and cash management.
• Establish robust financial controls, policies and reporting standards.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of player funds, settlements and third‑party transactions.
• Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, payment providers, tax advisers and regulators.
• Oversee statutory accounts, tax filings, audits and compliance across jurisdictions.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation and governance measures.
• Develop and support the finance team, promoting accuracy and accountability.
• Improve finance systems, reporting tools, automation and data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Extensive senior finance leadership experience in sportsbook, iGaming or other highly regulated digital businesses.
• Strong track record in financial strategy, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance.
• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
• Deep understanding of sportsbook and iGaming metrics such as GGR, NGR, player liabilities and bonuses.
• Experience managing reporting across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.
• Good knowledge of gaming regulation, licensing, tax, AML, KYC and financial controls.
• Experience overseeing audits, statutory reporting and tax compliance.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

• Advanced Excel or similar analytical software.
• Experience with ERP platforms.
• Proficiency with business intelligence tools.
