Head of Production & Boatbuilding

About the role

OMAYA Yachts is seeking a senior leader to take full ownership of the physical construction of its luxury power catamarans. The Head of Production & Boatbuilding will drive a disciplined, scalable production organisation while working closely with engineering and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day yacht production, set daily and weekly priorities and ensure teams meet standards and deadlines.
• Manage Production Supervisor, team leaders and subcontractors, matching skills to tasks and developing people.
• Oversee execution on the shop floor, verify drawings, BOMs, tooling and material availability, and monitor progress to avoid bottlenecks.
• Own the production commitment in the integrated schedule, provide realistic labour estimates and report progress.
• Partner with Engineering to give feedback on manufacturability, flag issues early and ensure engineering changes are correctly applied.
• Continuously improve build methods, standardise processes, develop tooling, jigs and templates.
• Control labour performance, productivity targets, overtime and subcontractor efficiency.
• Integrate quality and safety into daily operations, enforce inspections and safe work practices.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience in yacht or high‑quality boat production (40‑80+ ft range).
• Previous responsibility for managing multi‑discipline production teams in a shipyard or boatbuilding environment.
• Strong practical knowledge of yacht construction and assembly.
• Proven people‑management and leadership skills with a focus on accountability and delegation.
• Solid grasp of production planning, sequencing and manpower allocation.
• Ability to work closely with engineering and purchasing and solve problems on the floor.
• Fluent professional English and willingness to relocate to Silistra, Bulgaria.
