Platform Engineer (Mid Level) – Sofia

About the role

Platform Engineer (IC4 Mid level) based in Sofia, Bulgaria, joining Epos Now’s core platform team to modernise the infrastructure and developer platform for scalable, reliable services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate core platform services on AWS using Kubernetes, Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code, platform APIs and runtime tooling in Go or Node.js to improve reliability and time‑to‑market.
• Drive CI/CD, security, cost optimisation and performance best practices, reducing toil through automation and self‑service.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define standards, guide architecture and support migrations to modern platform patterns.
• Own services end‑to‑end: design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, incident response and post‑incident review.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to an inclusive, high‑performing engineering culture.

Required profile

• Mid‑level platform/SRE experience designing and operating high‑availability cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and Terraform (or equivalent IaC) at scale.
• Proficiency in Go or Node.js for building platform tooling and services.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, observability and cost control in cloud‑native environments.
• Track record of leading initiatives, influencing architecture and mentoring others.
