Principal Technical Architect – FT Specialist & Community

About the role

This new Principal Technical Architect role will shape the application, integration and cloud platform strategy for FT Specialist and Community, ensuring a coherent, scalable and secure technology ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Define architectural direction for multiple product domains and establish common patterns to accelerate engineering delivery.
• Lead modernization of legacy applications, drive platform consolidation, and ensure seamless integration across domains.
• Provide technical leadership and governance, including design reviews, reference architectures, and standards.
• Enable trusted, governed, observable data flows and prepare platforms for AI‑enabled services.

Required profile

• Proven senior technical architecture experience defining and governing cloud‑native applications at scale.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work across engineering, product and platform teams.
• Experience shaping technology strategy, roadmaps and balancing innovation with delivery.

Required skills

• AWS (public cloud) design and implementation.
• Cloud‑native application architecture and distributed systems.
• Data storage, streaming, processing and metadata management services.
• Software modelling, data integration, domain‑driven and event‑driven architectures.
• Architecture documentation using C4, ArchiMate, UML or Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
