Production Support Engineer

About the role

Destinus builds advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for defense partners worldwide. As a Production Support Engineer in Sofia, you will build the tools, infrastructure and processes that let production teams manufacture complex electronic systems efficiently, reliably and at scale. You sit at the intersection of software, hardware and manufacturing, removing bottlenecks and automating repetitive tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with production and engineering teams to find bottlenecks, eliminate waste and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
• Design, develop and maintain production infrastructure, automated tools and manufacturing support systems.
• Develop calibration equipment, automated test systems and custom hardware rigs for production.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust, long-term engineering solutions.
• Create intuitive software interfaces for production technicians.
• Integrate production equipment, devices and servers through secure network solutions.
• Support new product introductions with scalable manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Contribute to process documentation and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in production engineering, manufacturing engineering, test engineering or a similar role.
• Experience developing hardware test systems, automation tools or production software.
• Understanding of manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods such as Lean Manufacturing.
• Nice to have: UAV, robotics or electromechanical systems experience; visual-inertial navigation or sensor integration knowledge; electronics manufacturing or production testing background; physics, control systems or embedded systems understanding.

Required skills

• Strong programming in at least one of C/C++, Go or Python.
• Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills, working across software and hardware.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
